From the rolling hills of Hexhamshire comes a range of beers brewed in time honoured tradition; fine malted barley blended with hops, yeast, water and nothing else.
In 1992, in deepest Hexhamshire, Northumberland’s oldest brewery was formed, with one clear mission: to create wonderful beers using traditional methods and simple, high quality and locally sourced ingredients.
A small range of beers are brewed at any one time; a core selection of firm favourites surrounded by several seasonal ales and specially commissioned and bespoke brews.
Our brewery is in a lush, rural setting so other than the sheep, there’s nothing to disturb the alchemy of making our amazing brews.
The beers are on sale throughout the region and of course at our own pub, the Dipton Mill Inn, right next door to the brewery itself.
Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project wanted a beer to celebrate and raise awareness of the venture. Hexhamshire Brewery created a beer which reflected the gritty earthy character of these historic workers, which was a sell out success in pubs along the lead route from Allendale to Blaydon.
